We are delighted that you are considering Sevenoaks Prep for your child. This page explains the admissions process in more detail. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our Admissions Department. Mrs. Clare Harrison and Mrs. TJ Richards will be very happy to speak to you.
Our main points of entry at Sevenoaks Prep are Nursery, Reception, Year 3 and Year 7. Occasionally, places do become available in other year groups and it is always worth enquiring. Applications are welcome from all children. Please contact our Admissions Department to discuss your child’s requirements and any additional educational needs.
Make an enquiry about entry through this form, or ring the school on 01732 762336.
We welcome children in the academic year of their 3rd birthday and most children join us in September.
We offer both morning sessions from 8.30 am to 12.15 pm, including lunch or children can stay until 3pm. The number of sessions that children attend is up to the individual, though we ask for a minimum of three mornings a week. Please note our Nursery children can also attend our Breakfast Club from 7.30am and stay until 6.00pm with our wraparound care facility. Combined with our Holiday Club we are delighted to be able to offer 365 care to all our children.
Following their Nursery year, the children then move into Kindergarten where we ask for a minimum of 2 morning sessions and 1 full day. Attendance in both classes can be reviewed throughout the year and increased termly.
To secure a place, early registration is highly recommended. We accept registrations from birth and many parents register their child during their first year.
Full time education begins in Reception where there are two forms. Children in our Kindergarten are usually guaranteed a place in Reception and, as a result, places are limited. Early registration is recommended.
At Year 3 children move from the Pre-Prep to the Prep and remain in two forms. Children wishing to join in Year 3 should contact the school to discuss current availability.
Children wishing to join us in Year 7 will be invited to spend a day with our current Year 6. Places are offered subject to a successful taster day.
In all cases, offers are made once the school is confident that the prospective pupil will be able to cope with the academic curriculum and life at the school and that standards of behaviour will meet our expectations.
