Children’s Mental Health Week

17th February 25

Last week, the school embraced a fantastic national celebration of Children’s Mental Health Week, with a range of activities designed to promote wellbeing and self-awareness.

Throughout the week, pupils took part in gym sessions, yoga activities and wellbeing clubs, as well as a special ‘Wear What Makes You Happy’ day. A highlight was the introduction of our Wellbeing Bears – each class was given a bear to dress up and look after, ensuring they were as happy as possible. The bears then joined us for our end of the week assembly and we heard from each class about their bear and what inspired them.

We also participated in a national assembly from the School of Kindness, which explored the theme of ‘knowing ourselves and growing ourselves’ with a focus on kindness. As part of the week’s celebrations, Olympic rower Emily Craig visited the school to deliver an inspiring assembly before working with pupils in small groups to refine their rowing techniques.

It was a fantastic week, filled with creativity, reflection and plenty of smiles, as pupils explored what wellbeing means to them.
