I hope you are all well.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to such a wonderful Bonfire Night last week. It was so great to be able to go ahead this year and the fireworks were spectacular! A special “thank you” to David Cochrane (former groundsman at Sevenoaks Prep) who constructed his 40th bonfire for us! I am always mindful that once Halloween and November 5th pass we move into the festive period and plans are well underway for our Christmas Week at the end of term.
It has been good to chat with pupils over recent days about the election in America; indeed, I attempted to explain the US electoral college system to pupils in assembly on Monday and probably ended up confusing everyone even more! Nevertheless, it is always incredibly valuable to hear our pupils’ opinions on what they see as the important issues our government, the US and the rest of the world need to address.
On Monday we will be focussing on Remembrance in assembly, with Years 7 and 8 taking part in a service at the war memorial in Godden Green later in the morning.

Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome back to the second half of term! I hope everyone enjoyed a wonderful and relaxing half-term break. It is lovely to see the children back with such energy; we have started the term with vigour and gusto, and I can already hear the first Christmas tunes filling the hall!
Last week, we kicked off with Diwali workshops, which were thoroughly enjoyed by all. The children were immersed in stories and dance, bringing this joyful celebration to life and enriching their understanding of Diwali’s cultural significance.
Before we fully embrace the joys of Christmas, we will be focusing on Anti-Bullying Week. Miss Owen and Mr Koops will be leading this important initiative together, and you will hear more about their plans very soon.
Nativity Performances
A huge thank you to those parents supporting our new arrangements for the Nativity performances. We understand that an early evening performance is a change, and we sincerely hope this timing is helpful for our working families. While we know not all families may be able to make it back in the evening, we do ask as many as possible to return, particularly for Year 2, as it truly helps with our logistics and ensures the smooth running of these special events.
Thank you, everyone, for your continued support and understanding. We look forward to a joyful, busy half term ahead!
