Chess Success

Our chess players took part in the Solefield’s Invitational Chess Competition, taking on teams from St Michael’s, Hilden Grange, New Beacon, Somerhill and hosts Solefield. With our Year 6 players away on their residential to Paris, a determined squad of Year 5 pupils, and a Year 4 pupil, stepped up to the challenge – and delivered a fantastic performance!

It all came down to the final round, where the result would decide the bronze medal position. Our team rose to the occasion with a confident win, securing a well-deserved third place and bringing home the bronze medals.

We are really proud of the whole team, each member got at least two wins and contributed to our overall success – what an achievement!
