We are incredibly proud of our Year 6 girls who took part in the County In2Hockey tournament, hosted at The King’s School Canterbury on Monday. Finishing as runners-up, they brought home silver medals and qualified for the regional competition.
It was a beautifully sunny afternoon, and our girls demonstrated fantastic hockey skills, facing tough teams with determination. After progressing through the pool stage, they met Junior King’s in a closely fought semi-final that went into extra time. With cool heads, they rose to the challenge in a three-shuffle showdown (one-on-one with the goalkeeper), where their resilience and composure paid off. Brilliant saves from our goalkeeper and confidently taken shots propelled us into the final.
Congratulations to the entire team, who played exceptionally well throughout the tournament. Supported by our Head of Sport and our specialist hockey coach from Sevenoaks Hockey Club – who is coaching our hockey teams alongside our sports department this season – our girls are now looking forward to the regional competition next year.
