On Monday, our annual summer concert took place on a warm summer evening. Our performers were ready and once all the eager family members and friends had taken their seats, the orchestra struck the first notes of Vivaldi’s Spring movement, marking the start of what would be a wonderful night of music.
It was fantastic to have so many students take to the stage from across all year groups. From classical to contemporary pieces played on various instruments as solos, duets, and quartets, they performed a plethora of music styles that kept the audience captivated. The brilliant evening closed with our full choir singing a beautiful choral piece aptly named ‘Summer’ by Jonathan Dove. Then, to celebrate 50 years since ABBA won Eurovision, and at the request of the children, they sang a medley of ABBA songs, leaving everyone singing “Su-papa Troo-papa” well into the evening.
A huge congratulations to all the students who performed at the concert. It is wonderful to watch your confidence grow and to see that practice really makes perfect.
