Dear Parents

I want to take this opportunity to say a huge “well done” to our athletics team who won the inter school competition at St Michael’s last Monday. It was a tremendous team effort and certainly proof that everyone’s contribution counts. Whilst on the sporting theme, Golf Day was a tremendous success and we were extremely fortunate to be graced with blue skies and no rain. I know that everyone playing enjoyed their rounds (even the one that started at 6pm…) and a huge thank you to Ali Croft for arranging the day, ably supported by Sarah Howe and those in place at the most welcome beverage stops along the way!

The pupils have been so busy this term with many wonderful events taking place: the IAPS inter-school choir event, the drum concert, STEAM Day, sporting fixtures, Knight Frank Schools’ Triathlon and Prep Idol to name but a few. Thank you to Stéphanie Dubois for her stimulating talk to Year 7&8, as part of our lecture series, on her life as a professional tennis player. It has been a real privilege to watch the pupils taking on the opportunities in front of them and benefitting hugely from doing so.

Half-term brings with it the chance to recharge the batteries and look ahead to the exciting adventures to come: Sports Day, the independent schools district and national athletics competitions, trips for different Year groups and that all-important Year 8 Prom.

Best wishes

Luke Harrison

Dear Parents,
As we reach the end of this half-term, I am delighted to share with you some of the wonderful events and achievements that have taken place in the Pre-Prep. Our unique school community continues to flourish, providing a rounded education that sets a fantastic foundation for our children’s future steps.

Nursery Highlights
This term, our Nursery children have been immersed in the theme ‘Down on the Farm’. It has been a joy to visit their classrooms, listen to their imaginative stories, watch them engage with small-world play, and witness their remarkable development. Their growth in independence and confidence over the year has been phenomenal.

Kindergarten Adventures
In Kindergarten, the focus has been on ‘Healthy Eating’. I’ve been thoroughly impressed with the children’s growing confidence and skills as they prepare for full-time school in September. Their enthusiasm and hard work have been evident, and it’s wonderful to see their progress.

Year 1 Excursion
Year 1 had a fabulous visit to Wisley Gardens, where they explored their topic of ‘Growing’. They learned many new and interesting facts, making the trip both educational and fun. Their curiosity and engagement were inspiring.

Year 2 Creativity
Our Year 2 students have delved into the world of Roald Dahl, particularly enjoying their topic on Fantastic Mr Fox. The final versions of their own creative stories have been a delight to read, showcasing their imagination and writing skills.

Whole School Events
We have enjoyed STEAM Day and, in the last week, all of the children in Pre-Prep have had a talk about ‘Oral Health’ from a dentist, who is one of our parents. The children really enjoyed the talk and we hope that this will help support you at home with those all-important brushing routines!

Special Events Day
Today has been an immensely busy but rewarding day! In response to parent feedback, we condensed our special events into one day to better support our working families. While it has been a packed schedule, we hope this has been convenient for everyone.

Celebrations and Performances
We celebrated all things Prep with an incredible Grandparents’ Day. It was heart-warming to see the children proudly share their school life and work with their loved ones. A huge well done to all our brave and talented musicians who performed for their parents – what a great achievement! Finally, we will round off the day with our traditional Maypole dancing, which is always a hugely enjoyable event.

As we conclude this half-term, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to all our families for your continued support of our events and special days. A massive thank you also goes to our dedicated and talented staff, whose hard work and passion make everything possible.

I wish you all a wonderful half-term break and look forward to seeing you for the final half-term of this academic year. Please make sure to check the dates sheet, as there are many exciting events coming up.

Warm regards,
Helen Cook
