We were thrilled to host former Prep pupil Rob Harrison for our inaugural lecture as part of our newly launched Years 7 and 8 Lecture Series, designed to further enrich the educational experience of our senior pupils.
Mr Harrison, a languages teacher at The King’s School Canterbury and highly respected member of the King’s community, delivered an engaging lecture focusing on linguistics. Pupils were captivated as they delved into topics such as phonology, phonetics, semantics and applied linguistics, even trying their hand at using the International Phonetic Alphabet. Thank you very much Mr Harrison for such an enlightening, enjoyable and interactive session.
This lecture series aims to continue making learning dynamic and inspirational for our Years 7 and 8 pupils and we are looking forward to the upcoming lecture by Dr Barney Davies from Brighton College next month.
