Last Saturday we held our annual cricket day at The Prep which consisted of a Kwik Cricket tournament for children of all ages, a parents vs staff cricket match and a Year 8 vs their own parents match.
This is always a fun and relaxed family event with a bbq and ice-creams and there was also some impressive cricket on the pitch. Mr Harrison impressed the crowd with his cricketing prowess smashing 2 massive sixes and also demonstrated some handy bowling, Mr Oldroyd took a stunning catch, Mrs Fuller bowled beautifully, Mr Lemmon shone in his role as keeper, Mr Bailey scored very quickly and Mr Ashcroft put in a strong all round display. Parent Tim Shaw (aka Timmy Anderson) took lots of wickets but not enough for the parents to win…. Parents Michael Brown and James Goodman showed their quality and will definitely be invited back!
The Year 8 vs their own parents match was a tight one but the parents took the trophy on the penultimate ball despite some great play from the Year 8’s including an impressive 6 from Darcy.
It was great to see so many families enjoying the day.
