Exams

Notes to Pupils:

  • French and Spanish Speaking will take place BEFORE HALF-TERM and Listening during exam week
  • Mental maths will take place in lessons after the exams
  • Don’t stay up too late the night before cramming – you won’t gain that much from it and are likely to tire during the day. It is a hectic schedule
  • Get up in the morning with plenty of time to eat a healthy breakfast
  • Bring in a small bottle of water – it is important to keep well hydrated – and a healthy snack for break times
  • Aim to arrive at school slightly earlier than usual as this will give you time to settle yourself and prepare your environment
  • Make sure that you have checked with your teachers well in advance which equipment you need to provide for which exams e.g. which maths paper is the calculator paper
  • If you use a laptop for your work remember your equipment and to print off your work after the exam
  • You can never have too many pencils, ink cartridges, geometry sets, etc...
  • After breaks, make sure that you are at the exam room in plenty of time to get in the right frame of mind – you should be calm, collected and refreshed!
  • Mascots are welcome but bear (ha! Ha!) in mind the size of your desk!
