Social Events Commitee
The SEC at Sevenoaks Prep aims to support the school and help families make the most of their time at the school, primarily by organising events to bring parents and children together. Some of these events are to raise funds, but many are simply for pleasure. The main events the SEC runs are Bonfire Night and the Christmas Bazaar in the autumn term and a Ball and Summer Family Day in the summer term. You will find these dates on the school calendar. In addition, we run social evenings for parents and some smaller events for children and parents.
During the last school year we have used the funds we raised to provide the school with a new pagoda / outdoor classroom in the Pre-Prep orchard and a second pagoda / outdoor classroom is also underway for the Prep.
The SEC is a committee made up of 2 reps from each class in the school. The role of rep is open to any parent or carer. As well as taking part in school-wide events, the reps organise coffee mornings and nights out for parents and recruit parents to help out at SEC events. They represent the class’s opinions at SEC meetings and pass information back to the class from the SEC. SEC Member or otherwise, anyone is welcome to attend, help at or organise an event. If you would like to help, please get in touch directly or through your class rep - we are always grateful for volunteers! Attending SEC events and working with the SEC is a wonderful way to get to know other parents in this lively and friendly school community.
