The Events Committee at Sevenoaks Prep aims to support the school and help families make the most of their time at The Prep, primarily by organising events to bring parents and children together. Some of these events are to raise funds, but many are simply for pleasure. The main events the events committee runs are Bonfire Night and the Christmas Bazaar in the autumn term, the Quiz in the spring term and a Ball and Family Day in the summer term. You will find these dates on the school calendar. In addition, the events committee runs social evenings for parents and some smaller events for children including the nursery and kindergarten Grand Prix and the years 1 and 2 disco.
Anyone is welcome to attend, help at or organise an event. If you would like to help, please get in touch - we are always grateful for volunteers! Attending the events and helping to organise them is a wonderful way to get to know other parents in this lively and friendly school community.

The Parents Forum is a committee made up of the chairperson (Kathryn MacPherson), the secretary (Sam Goffin) and the treasurer (Sharon Thomas) together with two reps from each class in the school. The meetings are held three times a year at the beginning of each term and are attended by at least one rep from each class. Mr Harrison and Mrs Cook also attend these meetings as does Wendy Kent (school bursar) and TJ Richards (development manager). When available the minutes of these meetings can be downloaded via a link in the school newsletter. Alternatively they are available to view in this section of the school website.
The role of rep is open to any parent or carer. As well as taking part in school-wide events, the reps organise coffee mornings and nights out for parents and recruit parents to help out at school events. The termly meetings also serve as a forum in which parents can raise issues regarding any aspect of the school. The class rep provides an important role in gathering the class's opinions and concerns and bringing them to the attention of the chairperson prior to the meeting. These matters can then be added to the agenda and addressed by the committee at the meetings. The reps are then able to pass information back to the class following these meetings.
