Here at The Prep, we strive to give not only our pupils a head start in life, but also to improve the lives of a wide range of people around the globe. We can do this by fundraising for various causes that help build communities and provide these communities with necessities. In addition Prep pupils can visit local communities in need, providing support in a very direct manner.
This academic year we will be supporting the NSPCC as our main school charity. The NSPCC has a long history of supporting children who may have suffered from abuse and working to prevent such abuse from occurring.
We will also continue to support other local and international charities throughout the year through a range of activities, please see below for some examples:
Autumn Term 2017
Harvest Festival: The collections for the harvest festival are shared between the Loaves and Fishes food bank in Sevenoaks and the AgeUK centre at Hollybush.
NSPCC fundraisers: The Pre Prep Pumpkin challenge, odd socks day. Christmas card fundraising and stalls at the Christmas bazaar all help to raise funds for the NSPCC this term.
Christmas Angel Appeal: We are also continuing our support for The Salvation Army by encouraging families to buy an extra Christmas present to put under the tree at school, these are then distributed by The Salvation Army to those in need.
Summer Term 2018
Sponsored Walk: A fantastic and fun fundraising event for all the family! Families take part in a sponsored walk through Knole Park to raise funds for the NSPCC.
Prep Idol: A spectacular rock concert with participants from Years 6,7,8 which continues to raise funds for We See Hope and Haller.
